Welcome along!

The poorly named "Rugby Championship" continued tonight with Argentina here in Hamilton taking on the All Blacks. Argentina started with a try and continued playing well enough to be only 24-22 down after 50 minutes. But from then on the All Blacks scored regularly to win 57-22.

In National rugby Taranaki jumped into second in the Premiership against last placed Southland.
In other news, Sir Gordon Tiejens has retired as coach of the national rugby sevens team after twenty two years in charge. Kiwi Warren Gatland has been confirmed as the coach for the British & Irish Lions tour in 2017 to New Zealand.

NZ have started well in the Paralympics with two golds, a silver and a two bronze, putting us 11th on the table so far.

Last weekend Scott Dixon won the Watkins Glen Indy Car Grand Prix for the fourth time. It puts him into fourth on the career list and it was his second win of the season.

Tom Walsh did it again! For the third time in a row he broke the NZ shot put record, however this time he was beaten by the Olympic champ by seven cm.
Valerie Adams won her fifth Diamond League crown, when she finished second in the final meet of the season.

Kiwi rider Jack Bauer has won a stage on the Tour of Britain. He won the sprint finish on the fifth stage into Bath.

Joke of the Weekender
The black lacquer stand
holding his prized samurai swords was dusty, so my husband left our cleaning lady a note, reading, “Check out my swords.” That evening, he found the stand just as dirty as
before but with this appended to
his note: “Nice swords.”
